Bodhi Watch Ltd. respects the privacy of our users and has developed this Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy") to demonstrate its commitment to protecting your privacy. The Privacy Policy is intended to describe for you the information we collect, how that information may be used, with whom it may be shared, and your choices about such uses and disclosures.
We encourage you to read the Privacy Policy carefully. By using our website or any of our applications, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Participating in a Study
Contacts: We refer to the programme you are working on with us as a “Study.” A “Nurse” is appointed to the Study in your hospital and is the only contact between you and us. There is no direct contact.
Equipment: The Nurse will initialise a “Bodhi Watch” for you. It will show the time and nothing else. The Nurse will also initialise a “Pyramid” that looks like a clock on your sideboard. It regularly collects data from your Bodhi Watch and transfers that data to our secured computer. The data on the Pyramid is then deleted. You do not have access to any of this data.
Permission: The Nurse will provide you with a Guide that tells you everything about the Study. The Nurse will also ask for your permission in writing to participate in the Study. The Guide will set out how you dis-engage at any time if you choose to no longer participate and what happens to your data. There is more on this in the Privacy Policy below.
Information We Collect About You
This Privacy Policy document sets out everything about that valuable information we gather about you and its security.
In General: We may collect personal information that can identify you, such as your name, but most of the information that we collect is statistical and does not identify you. When you provide personal information through our applications the information will be sent to servers located in the United Kingdom.
- Information your hospital provides. We will collect basic information about you: gender, age, weight and so on but not your name, address, phone or anything that would identify you. Your nurse will provide simple check-list information about your operation and your general health. This information is not held on the same computer where we hold statistical extracted from your Bodhi Watch.
- Information from you. All other information we will collect automatically through the Bodhi Watch. When we ask for your permission, we will tell you what parameters we are collecting, for example, the number of steps, your heart rate and so on. This data will be collected in strings of numbers that mean nothing to anyone else other than our statisticians.
- Asking you Questions. We may ask you general questions periodically, mostly related to how you feel that day.
- Information from others. We may also collect information periodically that is in the public domain for your location, such as weather and pollen count.
How We Use the Information We Collect
In General: This is how we will use the information that we collect about you:
- Our statisticians identify trends on the parameters we collect about you and the other patients in the study. Remember that all of this data is anonymised.
- The outcomes could have significant impacts on future approaches to operation types, care and recovery.
- The outputs will be printed in medical journals in summary form.
With Whom We Share Your Information
We want you to understand when and with whom we may share personal or other information we have collected about you while using our applications.
- The anonymised data is analysed by our statisticians who are experts in their medical field.
- They summarise the data, show trends and impacts so the lead surgeons and cardiologists associated with the study can deduce outcomes. At the outset, we don’t know what we don’t know. So the outcomes could mean changes to existing procedures, focus on one type of operation over another given specific parameters, recommending care and intervention programmes for faster recovery.
- The lead surgeons and cardiologists, as a group, will publish technical papers on the outcomes in medical magazines and deliver lectures to medical conferences.
Specifically: The information we collect about you as an individual is not shared with any of your medical team or carers. Our interest at this stage is in statistics only to help make decisions based on the inputs from many patients and from large volumes of daily data.
You Cannot Access Your Information
You do not have the ability to review or enquire or update your personal information. The data we collect about you is unintelligible, even to expert technicians, and is anonymised specifically for that reason. On the server and database where we collect information about you there is nothing to indicate who you are.
When we say your data is anonymised, we really mean it.
Opting Out of the Study
At any time, you may choose to opt out of the Study. At that time:
- We will arrange collection of the Bodhi Watch and Pyramid from you.
- We will delete everything from both devices.
- We will keep the data we have already collected unless you specifically request that we delete that data as well.
If that is your wish, please inform the Nurse allocated to you for this study and we will take the necessary steps.
How We Protect Your Personal Information
We take appropriate security measures (including physical, electronic and procedural measures) to help safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access and disclosure on our central servers. For example, only authorized employees are permitted to access the data streams, and they may do so only for permitted business functions.
In addition, we use encryption in the transmission of your sensitive personal information between your Bodhi Watch and our computers. We use firewalls to help prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to our servers.
Web Site
Our web site shows information about our organisation and the Studies in general terms only. Once a study is published in medical journals we will put the information on our web site.
We have a Contact page but that is for visitors who have general questions, or for medical practitioners who want to make contact. You cannot make contact about your involvement in the Study, except through your Nurse.
When you visit our website, we use cookies to facilitate access through the pages and to keep statistics of visitors. If you visit the web site for information, there is no link to you, or the Study in which you are participating.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and services. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
We cannot envisage a situation where we would make any material changes in the way we collect, use, or share your statistical information once the Study has started. However, in the unlikely event that that should happen, we will notify you in writing through your Nurse.
